Pool & Backyard Remodeling in North Dallas

You don’t need to move.

You need your backyard back.

Design-driven pool and backyard transformations for North Dallas homeowners. Projects start at $50,000. Backed by a 3-year warranty, and every pool we touch is brought up to current codes and standards.

Serving Wylie, Plano, Rockwall, Prosper, Dallas, and the North Dallas suburbs for over 20 years.

Sound familiar?

Going out there a little less every summer.

Updated the whole house, and the backyard still looks like the year you bought it.

Been told to “just replaster it,” and something about that didn’t sit right.

Wondering, quietly, whether the easier fix is to move.

You’re not wrong to feel that way. And you’re not the only one.

Remodeled pool and new covered patio behind a brick home by Texas Outdoor Oas

The tile is almost never the problem.

Most people who call us about a pool remodel think it’s the tile. Or the plaster. Or the one water feature that started leaking. We’ve stood in a lot of backyards where the pool technically worked and the family still wasn’t out there.

The tile isn’t the reason. The reason is the backyard stopped being a place you want to be. It doesn’t match the house anymore. There’s no shade at noon. The host is stuck inside at the grill while everyone else is out by the water. So the pool becomes something you own instead of something you use.

That’s what a remodel fixes. Not the tile. The whole backyard.

Why Texas Outdoor Oasis?

We’ve been remodeling pools and building outdoor living spaces in North Dallas for over 20 years, and we’ve learned that the difference between a facelift and a backyard you actually use comes down to three things.

1

A designer comes out. Not a salesperson.

Your remodel starts with someone whose job is to figure out what your existing backyard can become, not to quote you a price per square foot of tile. Your designer plans around your home and the way you want to use the space, and you see the new version of your own yard in 3D, on the screens in our design studio in Wylie, before anyone picks up a tool.

2

Shade, kitchen, covered living, and landscape, in one design.

Most pool companies can replaster a pool. Very few can also build the covered patio, the outdoor kitchen, the shade you actually need at a noon pool party in July, and the landscape that ties it all together. We do, as one project with one design. Our own carpenters and landscape crews do much of the work, and we manage every trade on your project from start to finish.

3

Up to current codes and standards, and warrantied for three years.

Almost every older pool we open up has something unsafe in it that the owner never knew about. We fix it. Every remodel is brought up to current codes and standards, and our materials and workmanship are covered for three years.

Is it a repair, a facelift, or a transformation?

“Remodel” gets used for three very different things. Here’s what we mean by it.

A pool repair fixes one thing that broke. Regrouting waterline tile, resetting loose coping, replacing a pump, patching a crack. Small pool and equipment repairs aren’t part of what we do, with one exception: if we built your pool, our service team takes care of it. Call us at (972) 771-1977 and we’ll get you to them.

A pool facelift is new plaster and maybe new tile on a pool that otherwise stays exactly the same. It looks better for a while. It doesn’t change how you use the backyard, and it usually doesn’t touch the equipment, the decking, or the things that made the space feel dated in the first place.

A pool remodel, the way we do it is a transformation of the whole backyard. We keep your pool’s shell and its footprint, and we redesign everything around it and on it: the interior finish, the tile and coping, the decking, water and fire features, lighting, equipment you can run from your phone, the motorized screens, kitchen, or covered area that turns a pool into a place people stay, and the landscape that makes the whole yard match. It starts with a design, not a price list.

Why our projects start at $50,000. Because we don’t sell plaster, tile, or equipment one at a time. A remodel with us is a designed transformation: a designer, a 3D rendering, demo and disposal, bringing the pool up to current codes and standards, quality materials, and crews who build the outdoor living and landscape as part of the same plan. New finish, tile, and coping are the core of most remodels, and most pools we open up also need updates to meet current codes and standards, plus new equipment. Together, that’s why our projects start at $50,000. Projects that add outdoor living, fire and water features, and landscape typically run $90,000 and up. Our remodeling service is for the homeowner ready to make that kind of investment in the home they already love.

What we don’t do. We work within your pool’s existing footprint. We don’t enlarge pools, change their shape, or add a spa or tanning ledge to an existing pool. When you chip into someone else’s steel and gunite, you inherit whatever was done before, and we’re not willing to put your pool’s structure at risk to sell you a feature. If a bigger pool or a spa is the priority, we’ll talk with you honestly about what a new build looks like.

Before, design, after: how a transformation works with us

1. Before

Send us a few photos.
Three or four pictures of your backyard and a sentence about what’s not working. Within one business day, someone from our design team will reach out, and your designer comes to walk the yard with you, listen, and measure.

2. Design

See what it can become.
This is the step that changes the conversation. Your designer takes what they saw and what you told them and designs the transformation around your home and how you want to use the space. Then you see it in 3D, on the screens in our design studio in Wylie, before anyone picks up a tool. Most people are surprised by how much their existing backyard can do.

3. After

We build it, and we leave it cleaner than we found it.
We build the pool, the outdoor living, and the landscape as one project. A remodel uses smaller equipment than a new build, so there’s less tear-up. You’ll have a pre-construction meeting so you know the timeline. And when we’re done, we power wash the windows, the brick, all of it. That’s just how we finish.

Four promises, in writing.

  • We pressure test your plumbing before demo, so leaks get found and fixed instead of buried under new plaster.
  • If we find something hidden once demo starts, we show you and talk it through before anything changes.
  • Every pool we touch is brought up to current codes and standards.
  • Three-year warranty on materials and workmanship.

What waiting actually costs

Plaster worn down to the gunite is exposing your pool’s shell to water every single day. That’s structural, not cosmetic.

“It’s probably evaporation” is usually a leak in a line nobody has ever pressure tested.

Most older pools have a single main drain with no anti-entrapment cover. That’s a safety problem, not a style problem.

And the most expensive version: selling a house you love to solve a backyard problem.

They called about an ugly pool. They got their evenings back.

Before

David and Amy's dated pool and backyard in Prosper, Texas

When David and Amy first called us from Prosper, the conversation was all about the pool. It was dark. It was dated. They liked to entertain but had mostly stopped, because the backyard wasn’t somewhere you’d want to bring people. When our designer got there, the pool turned out to be only part of it. They had more usable space than they realized and very little of it working for them: one small covered patio by the house, a long stretch of tired concrete, three little sheer descents that had seen better days, and browns on every surface.

Design

The rendering changed the conversation. Lighter finishes and glass tile to brighten the whole yard. Fire and water bowls where the sheer descents had been. A covered living area with motorized screens, so the shade is there at noon and the bugs aren’t there at dusk. Seeing it on the screen is when they stopped thinking about a facelift and started thinking about the backyard.

After

They ended up with a backyard they live in. David just retired. Amy’s about to. At the post-construction walkthrough Amy told us she used to have her coffee inside. Now she has it out there. Evenings that used to be the TV are now the two of them by the water, and David lights the fire bowls just because he can. Their grandkids have a safe, modern pool. And they’re throwing a party for 75 people.

Jimmy Peacock, remodel designer at Texas Outdoor Oasis in Wylie, Texas

Meet Jimmy Peacock, your remodel designer

“I’m not a salesman. I’m a designer. My job is to walk your backyard, hear what’s not working, and show you what’s actually possible. Most of the time it’s more than people think.”

Jimmy brings nearly two decades of experience in outdoor living, landscape, construction, and client-focused design to every project. He started as a hands-on builder, so when he draws something, he already knows how it gets built. His designs treat the backyard as an extension of the home: clean lines, timeless materials, and layouts shaped around how you actually live and entertain. He and his wife have three kids, so a backyard where everyone’s still outside at dinnertime isn’t a concept to him. It’s home.

One design. Everything in it.

We don’t sell these one at a time.
Every item below is part of one design for your whole backyard, managed by our team as one project.

Interior finish and replaster.

Plaster is what keeps water off your pool’s shell. When it’s worn through, that’s structural, not cosmetic. We refinish in pebble, polished, or standard plaster, and we’ll tell you honestly which one fits your pool and your budget.

Tile and coping.

New waterline tile, including glass tile, and new coping change the look of a pool more than anything else at the water’s edge. Most of the “dated” feeling in a 15-year-old pool is a 6×6 tile and a coping style nobody uses anymore.

Pool decking and the surround.

We saw out and remove old concrete and replace it with natural stone, pavers, or decorative concrete. While the deck is open, we rebond the pool so it’s electrically safe.

Water features, fire features, and lighting.

Fire bowls, water bowls, sheer descents, and LED lighting that turns the backyard into the evening room. These are usually the pieces that make a remodeled pool feel like a new one.

Pool equipment and automation.

Variable-speed pumps that cost less to run every month, modern filtration, salt or salt-alternative sanitizing, and app controls for your lights, features, and heat. If you’ve never been sure how to run your pool, this is the part that fixes that.

Safety, codes, and standards.

Non-blockable main drains, proper bonding, and GFI protection on every pump. If it doesn’t meet current codes and standards when we get there, it does when we leave.

Shade, outdoor kitchens, and covered living.

Patio covers, arbors, outdoor kitchens, and motorized screens, designed with the pool as one space and built as part of the same project.

Landscape and landscape lighting.

New beds, trees, turf, and low-voltage lighting so the whole yard matches the pool, not just the ten feet around it. A remodeled pool in a tired yard still looks like a tired yard.

Pool remodeling questions we get asked most

Pool resurfacing replaces your pool’s interior finish and nothing else. Pool remodeling redesigns the space: finish, tile, coping, decking, features, equipment, and often the shade and outdoor living around the pool. Resurfacing alone is a facelift. A remodel is a different backyard.

Our pool remodel projects start at $50,000. New finish, tile, and coping are the core of most remodels, and most pools also need updates to meet current codes and standards, plus new equipment, which together bring a typical project to that starting point. Projects that add outdoor living, fire and water features, and landscape typically run $90,000 and up. You’ll see a lot of “$5,000 to $15,000 pool remodel” numbers online. Those are repairs and facelifts, and they’re not what we do.

Because a remodel done properly includes demo and disposal, bringing the pool up to current codes and standards, quality materials, and a real design process with a designer and a 3D rendering. We’d rather be honest about the number up front than surprise you after a Saturday design visit.

No. We work within your pool’s existing footprint. Adding a spa, tanning ledge, or new steps means chipping into the original steel and gunite, and we’re not willing to put your pool’s structure at risk. If a bigger pool or a spa is the priority, we’ll talk with you about what a new build looks like.

If your plaster is worn thin, rough, or you can see the gunite through it, yes. Plaster is what keeps water off your pool’s shell. Once it’s gone, every day of water exposure is working on the structure. It’s the least visible part of a remodel and one of the most important.

Most pool remodels take about 8 to 12 weeks once construction begins, depending on the scope. Larger transformations that include outdoor living, kitchens, landscaping, or other major construction can take longer. Less of your yard gets torn up than you’d expect: a remodel uses smaller equipment than a new build, so most of the demo moves through your gate by hand and wheelbarrow rather than heavy machinery. Your designer will give you your timeline at the pre-construction meeting, and we finish with a full power wash of the house and hardscape.

Most people call it bringing a pool up to code. In the pool industry it covers two things: codes, which apply to licensed trades like electrical and plumbing, and safety standards for things like drain covers. Almost every pool we open up has a single main drain with no anti-entrapment cover, and many have no bonding or no GFI protection on the equipment. We replace drains with non-blockable drains, rebond the pool when we redo decking, and put GFI protection on every pump. Other companies can replaster a pool and leave all of that alone. We won’t.

Yes. Before demo we pressure test your plumbing. Most homeowners who think they’re “losing a little to evaporation” are actually losing it to a leak nobody ever looked for. We find it and fix it before it gets buried under new work.

The bigger value is the one you get right now: a backyard you actually use. That said, a modern pool changes how a buyer sees your house. A dated pool reads as a money pit they’ll have to deal with. A remodeled one reads as finished.

Not as a standalone project. We design and build complete pool and backyard transformations, and resurfacing is one part of that. If you’ve been calling it “resurfacing” because you didn’t know what else was possible, send us a few photos. That conversation usually goes somewhere better.

Yes, and it’s usually the part that changes how you use the space. We build patio covers, arbors, outdoor kitchens, motorized screens, and landscape, designed together with the pool so the whole backyard works as one space. Most of our best projects are a pool remodel and a backyard remodel at the same time.

Yes. Every remodel carries a 3-year warranty on materials and workmanship, and warranty concerns go straight to our team. You can read the full warranty terms on our warranty page.
